Glenn’s been working and having very little WoW time. Brad and Christina are giddy with the fact that not only is Glenn getting caught up with Smallville, he’s watched his first real-time episode of Lost! The pair has been watching BSG have had another Shoppening in the past  few weeks. Brad’s been enduring Medieval style dental work, and Glenn is enduring party politics.

What’s been entertaining our potatoes du couch?  Glenn’s picked up the last season of 4400, Prophecy, Crossworlds, MST3K: The Movie,  Escape from LA, Golden Compass & Beowulf and Grendel. Brad & Christina have hit the good Gamestop sales, and came away with 4 seasons of Charmed, the first series of Hex, season 10 of SG-1 and 3 of SG-Atlantis, and Monster Squad. Finally, Brad adds to the stock pile of Robo Vampire dvds, which came with two eastern horror collections: Tales from the East & Return of the Evil Fox, and Magic of the Universe & Counter Destroyer. Christina does the happy dance of joy with her birthday presents from Elizabeth for her birthday: The Chipmunk Adventures, and the first seasons of Perfect Strangers. Brad’s completing his epic search for Serenity formats, and added his own copy on vhs.

We open this Geek and Tell with something Christina picked up, a trilogy of Vincent Price movies (the Bat, House on Haunted Hill and Last Man on Earth). They’ve got the HD edition of I Am Legend, 40 Year Old Virgin, Corpse Bride, Mystery Men, Scooby Doo, Superman: The Movie, and Van Helsing. Glenn looks forward to buying AVP: Requiem, The Metal Gear Solid edition of the PS3, and shows off his new comic, “Kick-Ass”.

We’re bookend our show this week with another Geek Cuisine! Before you worry about our dental bills, this one is organic Koala Krackers!

Our tvs and dvds are spinning like crazy this week. Brad and Christina have watched I Am Legend , and the trio talk about what they loved, and what they wish they saw. The couple have seen the season finale of Torchwood, and they’re not happy bunnies. The only redemption is that the following day, they watched the season opener of Doctor Who. Glenn and Carly have watched Day of the Dead, hated it, and Christina was impressed with Nick Cannon. They’re divided on whether or not Cloverfield is going to translate well to our home televisions. Christina and Brad have seen the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, and deem it quite possibly the longest movie ever. Christina has a geekgasm about Sweeney Todd. Glenn’s caught up with Lost, and nearly up to date on Smallville. We’re trying to sell him on Supernatural, Heroes & Jericho.

Geek Cuisine this week is Wild Cherry M & Ms

The boys bask in the light of the Iron Man toys, and Brad’s got his hard copy of Infected by Scott Sigler. He’s got the XBox 360 version of Lost, They’ve got Live Free or Die Hard, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on Blu-Ray. Blu-ray, you ask? Yep, Brad’s finally got the holy grail Playstation 3. He’s got Virtua Fighter 5 (after trying and hating Ridge Racer 7), and Full Auto 2: Battle Lines. To go with it, he’s got the Dual Shock 3 controller. Not to be left out, Glenn’s got a shiny new phone! The AT&T Tilt has now taken up residence in his pocket.

I just went to edit the next couple of PodCulture eps……only to discover that the audio is total CRAP! Something must have gotten bumped setting-wise and I didn’t notice during recording. I’m gonna do my best to salvage, but fair warning dear listeners…..….eps 102 and 103 are NOT going to sound near as nice as our normal episodes.

I know that everyone is their own worst critic, and maybe it really isn’t as bad as I make it out to me. However I do know that the next two episodes are not up to the standards I normally strive for, and because of that I am really sorry.

We live and learn, and I guess this is one of those times we learn the lesson the hard way.

Christina receives the best present ever! Brad gave her Condorman on dvd! The gang talks about the legality of recording things to watch later. The two have stockpiled Doctor Who, and they’ll fill in the gaps between current season. Brad has a venomous dislike for Catherine Tate. Glenn’s looking forward to The Mist coming out on dvd, Christina talks about the movies they’ve ordered, and is ridiculous excited by Sweeney Todd on dvd.

Geek Cuisine celebrates Indiana Jones with Mint Crunch M & Ms.

Brad and Christina have rescued a few more koalas from the black hole called Ebay. Glenn’s got two editions of Roy Thomas’ Alter Ego, and Dark Ivory comics. Brad’s got new BSG toys, Green Lantern Minimates from Christina, the “hall of armor” Iron Man set (to go with his Iron Man shirt), and X-Men figures. Not to leave the book shelf bereft, he’s got The Petty Family Album.

Creator of The Rocketeer, Dave Stevens, has passed away, and Glenn speaks about him.

We conclude this week with Glenn is doing “research” at Horror Hound Weekend next week, and will be enjoying the new WoW patch. The trio discuss what the best parts of the past 99 episode have been. Brad is looking for someone to take care of our MySpace page.

Take a moment to stand in awe of our spenditude…or a moment to cry about it. This week Glenn is the first Culture Crew member to break out the Blu-Ray with I Am Legend. Ashlee and Brad both show of their shiny (literally!) Cortana figures. Brad picked up Master Chief, and she got a Brute Chieftain. Christina is enabling all over the place as Brad has added a few new furry faces to the family. Brad has also picked up the motorcycle chase Lego set from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii. Both boys have picked up Flatout: Ultimate Carnage in a surprise XBox 360 find, and Brad adds V: the Second Generation to the book shelf.

He’s got his DS Browser, Retro Atari, Transformers Autobots, Metroid Prime Pinball, Star Trek:Tactical Assault, Meteos, and Mario Kart DS. The two are jealous of Glenn, now that he’s got Lost: Via Domus. Brad defends the Yaris game on XBox 360.

“They have chosen….poorly”. Brad and Christina backed the HD camp, so with their HD dvd drive for the XBox 360, they’re collecting the remains of the Blu-Ray massacre. They had an interesting experience picking up some titles, but have come back with Constantine, Face-Off, V for Vendetta, Apollo 13 and Beowulf. Brad’s picked up Breakfast Club and Smallville season 6 on dvd. Titles that came with his players include King Kong, Bourne Identity and 300. His favorite HD prize is Star Trek: Season 1. The boys talk about backwards compatibility on the PS 3, and HD versus Blu-Ray.

Christina starts off with the almost-antique X-Files Game for the PC, and Brad follows up with Portal and Orange Box. Glenn tells us about Half Life, and Brad rants about the XBox Live debacle (bit of a swearing spoiler if your kids are listening). Christina and Brad talk about Uno, and Glenn shows off the newest addition to his firearms collection.

Glenn’s bought The Brave One, and following the Naveen Andrews theme, they argue whether or not English Patient is strictly a “chick” movie. Brad’s got Death Proof, and they’ve picked up the first four seasons of 24 for hellacheap on dvd. Enticing Glenn with his copy, Brad talks him into buying his own copy of Blade:Season 1. Christina’s got the Collector’s Edition of Dark Crystal, and received Across The Universe from Brad for Valentine’s Day. Glenn finally got to watching Blood & Chocolate, and looks forward to seeing Jumper at the theater.

Geek Cuisine is as nuts as we are, as we enjoy Nut & Butter Crunch Snickers.

We buy stuff so you don’t have to!  Brad’s Valentine’s presents were Playboy and Wizard magazines, Stargate:SG1 Barque of Heaven and Doctor Who: Forever Autumn.  Christina regales her nightstand incident, for which Brad bought her a Green Arrow figure in consolation. Brad got a pack of Halo 3 Hero Clix, and his copy of Playing For Keeps by Mur Lafferty. Adding to his comic shelf, Brad’s picked up the first collection of Witchblade comics from Top Cow, Serenity:Those Left Behind in hardcover, and The House of M from Marvel. Glenn adds “Empowered” to his collection.

Christina has fallen off the Bath & Body Works bandwagon, but she’s working through her addiction with the help of a plush Liem from Mouse Guard. Glenn’s into the heavy stuff this week with his big brown box with his brand new gun.

These couch potatoes have been sliced and fried this week! Brad and Christina have watched the pilot of Sarah Connor Chronicles, but Glenn’s boycotting Fox. They both love Flash Gordon, but differ on their affection for Stargate Atlantis. Jayhawk created a monster, so the couple are hooked on Primeval, and welcome the first episode of series two. Nothing tops the season premiere of Torchwood this week. James Marsters plays the slimy, swaggering “big bad” we missed so much. Christina has pre-ordered the first series, and has a mini-rant about Amazon and Borders. She’s hooked on PBS, and mourns not being able to stay up to watch the Craig Ferguson show. Ashlee’s been watching Ghost Hunters International, and misses Jason and Grant. Christina suggests “Ghost Adventures”. Glenn’s bought Superman Returns on HD, Dragon Wars, War, The Darkman Trilogy, and Skinwalkers. Christina watched the first National Treasure before she sees the sequel. Ashlee’s bought Angry Video Game Nerd on dvd, and Ctrl+Alt+Del.
