WP Platinum Blog
We start out this week with our teeth ready for geeking in Geek Cuisine! We’ve got the very odd, Snickers Charged bars.
Now that we’re sugared up, we’re ready for Glenn to review the very Guilty “G-Men From Hell”.
We thank The Signal for their Sci-Fi Review of Sliders.
We open this Geek and Tell with something Christina picked up, a trilogy of Vincent Price movies (the Bat, House on Haunted Hill and Last Man on Earth). They’ve got the HD edition of I Am Legend, 40 Year Old Virgin, Corpse Bride, Mystery Men, Scooby Doo, Superman: The Movie, and Van Helsing. Glenn looks forward to buying AVP: Requiem, The Metal Gear Solid edition of the PS3, and shows off his new comic, “Kick-Ass”.
We’re bookend our show this week with another Geek Cuisine! Before you worry about our dental bills, this one is organic Koala Krackers!
In closing, we all anticipate Iron Man, and appreciate the likeness between Al Pacino and Robert Downey, Jr.

We’d like to thank Baron in Denver for wishing us well after our earthquake last week
Our tvs and dvds are spinning like crazy this week. Brad and Christina have watched I Am Legend , and the trio talk about what they loved, and what they wish they saw. The couple have seen the season finale of Torchwood, and they’re not happy bunnies. The only redemption is that the following day, they watched the season opener of Doctor Who. Glenn and Carly have watched Day of the Dead, hated it, and Christina was impressed with Nick Cannon. They’re divided on whether or not Cloverfield is going to translate well to our home televisions. Christina and Brad have seen the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, and deem it quite possibly the longest movie ever. Christina has a geekgasm about Sweeney Todd. Glenn’s caught up with Lost, and nearly up to date on Smallville. We’re trying to sell him on Supernatural, Heroes & Jericho.
Geek Cuisine this week is Wild Cherry M & Ms
The boys bask in the light of the Iron Man toys, and Brad’s got his hard copy of Infected by Scott Sigler. He’s got the XBox 360 version of Lost, They’ve got Live Free or Die Hard, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on Blu-Ray. Blu-ray, you ask? Yep, Brad’s finally got the holy grail Playstation 3. He’s got Virtua Fighter 5 (after trying and hating Ridge Racer 7), and Full Auto 2: Battle Lines. To go with it, he’s got the Dual Shock 3 controller. Not to be left out, Glenn’s got a shiny new phone! The AT&T Tilt has now taken up residence in his pocket.
The Obscure 80’s Podcast and the American Cancer Society entreat you to donate and join the fight against cancer.
Thanks to J.T.’s Indie Podcast for his promo!
FRACK!!!!!!!!
I just went to edit the next couple of PodCulture eps……only to discover that the audio is total CRAP! Something must have gotten bumped setting-wise and I didn’t notice during recording. I’m gonna do my best to salvage, but fair warning dear listeners…..….eps 102 and 103 are NOT going to sound near as nice as our normal episodes.
I know that everyone is their own worst critic, and maybe it really isn’t as bad as I make it out to me. However I do know that the next two episodes are not up to the standards I normally strive for, and because of that I am really sorry.
We live and learn, and I guess this is one of those times we learn the lesson the hard way.
Peace,
Brad
***Notes to self…check settings BEFORE recording next time***
We welcome out guests, Tony, Kathy, and Randy back in the studio for episode 101!
Brad tells the cautionary tale of getting his Zoom H4 recorder and the black hole that was UPS, and we share our shipping disasters. We talk about Jericho, and the movies and shows still available on HD. Kathy’s planning on re-watching Babylon 5 from the beginning, and we get into the discussion about Doctor Companions. We talk about the casting of Star Trek, we defend that Bono is handsome, Sweeney Todd is funny and Grave of the Fireflies is so very not.
Geek Cuisine is the “leftover” edition as Tony, Kathy and Randy enjoy some of our culinary highlights.
Tony begins our Geek and Tell with his Mark I One Iron Man figure, Brad and Christina have a new koala for the family, add Battlestar Galactica Season 3 for the dvd shelf, and the sale find of the week, his Light Saber construction set for his inner Jedi. We discuss our inner rock gods and compare notes for Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Frets on Fire.
Matthew from Michigan shares his “so bad they’re good” movie, “The Sword Stained With Royal Blood”.
Thank you so much to Gigi Edgely, and Lani Tupu for their gracious bumpers, and thanks to the gang at Geek By Night for another fantastic installment.
Four score and 100 episodes ago…. Holy PodCulture milestone Batman!
A century of episodes gone by since the first show, and we’re celebrating with our friends. We welcome Randy (from geekshow.us), two of our listeners Tony and Kathy, (and thanks to Randy’s wife, Tabitha for hanging with us, even though she isn’t on the show).
Glenn is off at Horror Hound Weekend, but we’re still watching TV. Brad and Christina have finished up Jericho, and Randy is annoyed that there aren’t any more. They talk about the possibility of it being picked up by another network. Christina and Brad are still carrying their torch (wood) for Captain Jack Harkness. Brad looks forward to Joss Whedon’s new show “DollHouse”, which leads us to discussion about how to sell seasons of television. Everyone anticipates to Supernatural, Lost, and Smallville coming back. Discussion leads to Joel Grey, and Wicked:The Musical. Christina can’t wait for Sweeney Todd, and Kathy is looking forward to Battlestar Galactica. Tony tells us about Buckethead.
We can’t forget to include our honorary best Guilty Pleasure, Robo Vampire!
Geek Cuisine are A&W Root Beer Float and Sunkist Orange Float sodas.
Thanks to the actors who play(ed) two of our dearly departed Firefly characters, Ron Glass and Alan Tudyk for recording the bumpers for us.
Thank you so very much for another promo installment of Geek By Night!
99 red balloons don’t hold a candle to PodCulture’s 99th episode!!
We begin with regaling the adventure of Ashlee’s farewell party, Do you remember the moment you realize, for the first time, that you’re part of the “old people” demographic of a party? Christina does! Having successfully infected Canada with Robo Vampire, we consider it a weekend well spent.
What’s gluing our couches to our potatoes this week? Glenn’s caught up with Lost! (Everybody say it with me, “FINALLY!!”) Brad and Christina are holding their breath for the last episode of Torchwood. Christina rewatched the pilot for Battlestar Galactica, and they disagree on the HD packaging. Glenn fills us in on a possible Constantine sequel and the deal of Painkiller Jane on dvd. Glenn bought Hitman on dvd, and we talk about games that turn into movies. Christina receives the best present ever! Brad gave her Condorman on dvd! The gang talks about the legality of recording things to watch later. The two have stockpiled Doctor Who, and they’ll fill in the gaps between current season. Brad has a venomous dislike for Catherine Tate. Glenn’s looking forward to The Mist coming out on dvd, Christina talks about the movies they’ve ordered, and is ridiculous excited by Sweeney Todd on dvd.
Brad announces that the Bluegrass Browncoats site is back from rim!
Geek Cuisine celebrates Indiana Jones with Mint Crunch M & Ms.
Brad and Christina have rescued a few more koalas from the black hole called Ebay. Glenn’s got two editions of Roy Thomas’ Alter Ego, and Dark Ivory comics. Brad’s got new BSG toys, Green Lantern Minimates from Christina, the “hall of armor” Iron Man set (to go with his Iron Man shirt), and X-Men figures. Not to leave the book shelf bereft, he’s got The Petty Family Album.
Creator of The Rocketeer, Dave Stevens, has passed away, and Glenn speaks about him.
We conclude this week with Glenn is doing “research” at Horror Hound Weekend next week, and will be enjoying the new WoW patch. The trio discuss what the best parts of the past 99 episode have been. Brad is looking for someone to take care of our MySpace page.
We’d like to thank everyone (again) who voted for us in the Podcast Peer Awards, and thank you even more to those who have listened to us for 99 episode, and we look forward to many, many more.
Promos come courtesy of J.C. Hutchins and his “Ultra Creative Interviews” series, Mike’s Hot Dish, and our own near and dear The GeekSpin!
