PodCulture 88: New Year Same Geeks – Part 3

Hail to the sugar gods, as we begin this episode with Geek Cuisine! We’ve got Tootsie Roll Holiday Mini-Chews, Christina enjoys her SoBe Lifewater, and the gang discusses sugar versus non-sugar.

We wrap up our Christmas booty as Brad talks about the Justice League PS2 controller from Christina’s parents. Christina got him The Sontaran Experiment to add to the Doctor Who shelf. Also, John Barroman themed presents in the revival recording of Grease, Putting It Together and Shark Attack 3: Megalodon on dvd. Christina has her giddy moment showing off the Sweeney Todd: In Concert and original black and white Sweeney Todd dvds.  Brad’s picked up the Wii Zapper with Link’s Crossbow Training, Bioshock, Star Trek Legacy, Lost Planet and Rainbow Six: Vegas. Glenn’s picked up Spider-Man 3, but has yet to play it, and Christina’s brother introduces her to Carnival Games for the Wii. Glenn’s got Bullet Witch, Assassins Creed and Mass Effect. We discuss whether or not we’ll go see Be Kind Rewind. Brad’s crowning joy is his new 360 Elite, and we dread the news about Warner Bros. going to Blu-Ray. Brad and Christina are enjoying TVersity software to stream video from the computer to the Xbox 360. The boys talk about the crapness of Xbox Live at Christmastime.

In closing the trio talk about doctor appointments, jury duty and voting. All pretty painful!

Thanks so very much to The Babylon Podcast for their promo, and The Brobdingnagian Bards for their song, “Exclamations”.

  1. Michael in Nashville Says:

“Sontaran Experiment” is an interesting little two-parter in the Dr Who canon. If you’re looking to see more of the Sontarans, they will be back this year and their debut (and best episode) comes out later this year–The Time Warrior.

If you’re looking to add more Who to the DVD collection, let me recommend Pyramids of Mars.
