PodCulture 37: Sick Daze – Part B

Posted on Sunday, February 25th, 2007

After an introduction by Dawn and Drew of the Dawn and Drew Show, the geeky trio returns to reinfect with Part B of Sick Daze.

Glenn imparts his Guilty Pleasure this week not with Zardoz or Attack of the 60ft Centerfold, but with Drive, directed by Steve Wang, starring Marc Dacascos with Brittany Murphy. Glenn also requests some GP feedback. Have his movies made you hurl, or made a home on to your dvd shelves? Which guilty pleasures would you suggest?

Toy Talk gushes with Wii love, 360 play, and as always, the crusade’s still burning in World of Warcraft. We discuss flight simulators, Rainbow Six:Vegas, and Christina’s Huntress figure adorns her cubicle. Glenn adds to his X-Box collection with Breakdown, Advent Rising, and Batman Begins, and the boys discuss the various modification parameters possible with console games.

Conversation winds down with a fond farewell to football season, and our love/hate relationships with the movie Talladega Nights (and by extension, Elf).

Musical guest for this episode is Positive Attitude with their song, “2600″, found on the album Technobabble, and The Signal provides a sci-fi review of the hit series, Lost.

Wellpers gang. I just found out yesterday that PodCulture and Episode 34 — Crash Boom Bam – Part A is critiqued on episode 12 of Podholes! Podholes is a podcast about the technical aspects of podcasting and is a part of the Farpoint Media network of podcasts.

Back at it once again the PodCulture crew infects you with another dose of geek filled goodness.

Assorted intro geek chatter includes the fact that everyone on the crew is sick in some way, shape or form. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade, and Brad ranting about car rentals, and gushing about the long awaited return of the Culture Cruiser.

In Television and DVD talk the crew chats about, The 4400, Veronica Mars, Smallville, Witchblade, Doctor Who and some deleted scenes from season two, Heroes and Christopher Eccleston joining the cast of that show. We go on to talk about Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Grease: You’re the One That I Want, Who Wants To Be a Superhero, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Clerks 2, Groom Lake, Mosquito Man aka Mansquito, Merchant of Venice, Reefer Madness, The Illusionist, and The Descent

Geek Cuisine this time around is once again all about Kit Kats! This time it is Cherry Kit Kats. Christina also shares her thoughts about the Morning Spark powdered drink mix.

Human Again!

Posted on Friday, February 16th, 2007

Yeah folks I’m starting to feel almost human again after the craptastic stomach virus. (thanks to Christina and her miracle popsicles from the store) However since the show is so late at this point I’m going to go ahead and wait till our regular Sunday night time to release the next episode of the show.

Sorry you guys had to wait, but hopefully y’all understand. Catch ya ’round the podcast ‘verse!

Peace,
Brad

Call me Typhoid Yoko

Posted on Monday, February 12th, 2007

Okay, so I may not have been the cause of his illness…this time. Having only just gotten over his respiratory infection, Brad is sicker than River on Miranda tonight. I’m taking the liberty of letting you all know the next episode will be another day in coming. Anyone who knows him knows if he’s too sick to get on the internet himself, it must be bad. I could edit the show myself, but…yeah, we all know what a train wreck that would be.

So watch something weird, play something addictive, read something cool, and be prepared to share with the class next time. Until then, send him good thoughts and wishes that whatever evil bug he’s got goes as quickly as it came.

Cheers,
Christina

Slight Delay — UPDATED

Posted on Sunday, February 11th, 2007

Hey y’all……Christina and I just got back in town from going to Lexington, KY for a meetup with Dawn and Drew (and the “Minion Army”) from The Dawn and Drew Show.

The next show will be delayed a day or two while I catch up on some sleep. I hope to have it out TUESDAY night.

Sorry y’all but I’m just too wiped out to edit the show right now.

Peace,
Brad

PS: I’m also starting to feel a bit under the weather as well.
